Sony Xperia C3 Is Official, Sony Wants In On The Selfie Trend
// Ubergizmo
Just yesterday we saw a leaked photo of the Sony Xperia C3, and we guess Sony didn't want to waste any more time or cause unnecessary speculation as they have officially announced the handset, a phone which they are calling the "ultimate" smartphone as far as taking selfies are concerned.
Just in case you aren't aware of the term, a selfie is essentially a photo you take of yourself using your own camera. This is usually accomplished with the front-facing camera on smartphones, but we guess Sony has added some tricks and features to the Xperia C3 that might help enhance the selfie-taking experience.
So what makes the Xperia C3 a great selfie phone? Well according to the Sony, the handset will feature a 5MP front-facing camera with a wide-angle lens, which according to them is a 25mm equivalent with an 80 degree field of view, so you will be able to capture more of your surroundings and your friends in your photos.
The phone's shutter can be triggered either via the Smile Shutter detection, or double tapping the phone's back cover. The phone will also come bundled with a variety of selfie-related apps that adds graphics and animations to your photos. Other features of the phone includes a quad-core 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of onboard storage.
There will also be a 5.5-inch HD display, dual-SIM support, and 4G LTE connectivity. Sony has announced that the phone will be launched globally starting in August later this year with China being its first market, before making its way to other countries.
