If you love taking and manipulating photos with your iDevices, you'll be happy to know that AfterLight has finally made it to the iPad. Long one of the top 10 paid apps on the App Store for the iPhone, the lightweight app allows you to create more appealing images than what you find with similar filter-based apps like Instagram. In addition, it features numerous sliders to help you create the perfect photo.
If AfterLight doesn't ring a bell, you might recall that the app was originally called AfterGlow when it first appeared on the App Store in November of last year, after which some legal complications prompted the change to the current name.
So far, there doesn't appear to be anything significant that sets the iPad app apart from its iPhone/iPod Touch counterpart, but that's a treat in itself that iPad users now have access to the same features they've come to love on the smaller devices. Those features include over a dozen adjustment tools including options for clarity, brightness, contrast, saturation, highlights, exposure, shadows, fade, highlight tones, mid tones, shadow tone, temperature, vignette, grain, and sharpening.
For a mere buck, that's about as competent as what you'd expect from the Adobe Photoshop app, and a good deal more intuitive, too. Toss in 40 filters drawn from both the development team and "guests" in the form of Instagram users, 66 textures, 75 frames, and a multitude of cropping and transformation features, and you'll likely find that you have a keeper app for your iPad.
