Apple's iRadio service reportedly ready for launch as last label inks deal
Apple Sony iRadio Agreement
A new report claims that Apple has signed a licensing deal for its upcoming iRadio service with the last major label that was holding out — according to AllThingsD, the company has come to terms with Sony. Apple is now said to have agreements in place with the three major music labels, Universal Music, Warner Music and Sony, and is expected to unveil the new service at its Worldwide Developer Conference on Monday. An earlier report suggested that Apple was also close to signing a licensing agreement with BMG Rights Management, the fourth largest music publisher. Apple's iRadio service is rumored to be a hybrid Web and radio service with features similar to those offered by Pandora and Spotify, and it may also include an iAd tie-in. WWDC is scheduled to kick off on Monday and Apple's keynote will begin at 1:00 p.m. EDT.
