A-001 Taller de Arquitectura have completed the design and development of Casa del Viento, a contemporary residence in the city of Tepoztlán, Morelos, Mexico. Reflecting the cultural mix that characterizes the region, the architecture of the building includes a variety of materials, ranging from exposed concrete and glass to the more traditional stone. The result is an imposing modern mansion, complete with a terrace the owners wanted for meditation, small balconies and a swimming pool reflecting the silhouette of Tepoztlán.
Each room has its own personality and opens up to 180 degree views of the neighboring hill. The inhabitants can enjoy a landscape that changes continuously through the day, as the sun transits the sky. Sustainable features of Casa del Viento include use of solar heaters, rainwater capturing systems and natural ventilation.
