Pokémon TV App Brings Popular Episodes to iOS
After 16 seasons, the Pokémon animated television series is still massively important with younger audiences. And as a result of years of episodes, movies, and of course videogames, the adventures of Ash and the gang have permeated pop culture in a deep way. Today, you can start watching tons of Pokémon television episodes through a free iOS app.
Pokémon TV, now available via the App Store, features a whole bunch of animated content. The app is an impressive piece of fan-service, with the Pokémon Company placing a rotating assortment of episodes from the television show.
Each weekly rotation features 50 Pokémon episodes, drawing from the show's long-running, 15 season library (it doesn't look like the just-debuted 16th season is available quite yet). All in all, that's over 700 episodes, so there should be no lack of new content each week. And even if you're not a longtime fan of the Pokémon series, it's hard to resist so much free television.
The animated Pokémon movies will also find a home on Pokémon TV. The most recent film, Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. The Sword of Justice, will be available on February 15. A new short, Meloetta's Moonlight Serenade, will debut on Pokémon TV the same day. The Pokémon Company has also promised special features and movie trailers packed into the app.
