Casio G-Shock Smart Watch Uses Bluetooth 4.0 to Pair with iPhone
What do you get the iPhone user who already has everything? How about a swanky Bluetooth 4.0-enabled wristwatch they can use to pair with their favorite Apple device so they'll never miss your call again?
Engadget is reporting that the Casio G-Shock GB6900 has finally made its way from the flooding in Thailand to arrive in the hands of eager iPhone owners, just in time for Christmas gift-giving.
Billed as a "low energy smart watch," Casio's latest G-Shock model features Bluetooth 4.0 and the ability to pair with an iPhone 4S or iPhone 5, which provides the watch with time sync as well as alerts for incoming calls and emails.
All those alerts might get annoying after awhile, but Casio has built in the ability to double-tap on the watch face to automatically dismiss them. The G-Shock will also alert users when the iPhone is out of range to help curb misplaced handsets.
Casio's watch also features a Find Me function in which alarm and vibration functions on an iPhone can be activated using the buttons of the watch, which sounds pretty handy to us.
With its low power consumption Bluetooth, the Casio G-Shock GB6900 is now available for $180 at select retailers including Macy's, Bloomingdale's and Nordstrom as well as direct from the GShock.com website.
