In Case You Missed It: May 22 - May 28

If you lived under a rock, then you didn't hear about Google Wallet, which was everywhere online and you can just tell it's one of those Google offerings that isn't going to Buzz or Wave itself away. But what the heck else happened this week? Well, we'll tell you all the questions you've been too embarrassed to ask about HTML5, we'll teach you how to get your mitts on some Spotify love, and we'll show you the strangest game you never knew you needed, like yesterday.

Features:

- What is HTML5? - Savvy computer users have been hearing much about HTML5 bandied about whether from Steve Jobs or in conversations about Flash. Sure, we get that HTML and its cousin XML pretty much power the whole entire web, but what exactly do they do -- and how is HTML5 all that different from previous generations?

- Google Wallet Leaps Into Mobile Payments, Offers - We read a lot of tech journals and social media sites, and there was no story we saw so consistently across the board quite like that of Google Wallet. It was everywhere, videos of people buying Cokes from vending machines, lawsuits, NFC chips and on and on. Even Apple's supposedly getting into this game. Looks like their former BFF beat them to it.

How-Tos:

- How to Minimize Windows to an Application's Dock Icon - One thing it took time to adjust to switching from a PC to a Mac was minimizing programs to a handy stack. Apple just kept piling them up and pretty soon our dock got crowded. We missed the stack of windows of all the Word documents we had open. With Snow Leopard, all that changed.

- How To Access Spotify From the US - So bad it's good. There's really no reason we shouldn't share this work around with you. Intransigent record labels will cut their noses off to spite their faces as their Business Model before they'll embrace anything new online. And so, Spotify, one of the most popular music streaming services on the planet, remains unavailable stateside. Unless you know how to set up a proxy server -- and guess who does? Your good friends at Mac|Life, and soon, you too.

Reviews:

- 20 Killer Mac Apps Under $20 - The iOS App Store has changed everything, even how you will buy software on your desktop. And you know how sometimes you Google articles to find the best Twitter client or other software? Consider this your starter for the best choices on the Mac App Store.

- Pulse: Volume One Review - We love a good mystery here at Mac|Life and if you can marry it to an addictive app that doesn't even really come with instructions, well, then you've got our attention. Pulse is just such an app, a game so simple, so different, so curiously not in the realm of other games that we can only say "go get it. Now."
