The 2011 Geneva auto show will play host to this Lotus Evora, which has been modified for the sports-car manufacturer by German customization firm Mansory. The tweaked Evora wears plenty of bare carbon fiber, with the mirror housings, rear wing, roof, side skirts, and other accent pieces rendered in the lightweight material. We also spot a massive carbon-fiber rear diffuser, new front fascia, and restyled exhaust tips. If this feels like déjà vu all over again, that's because Lotus showed a very similar Evora Carbon concept at last year's Geneva show.
Lotus stresses that, contrary to reports circulating in the media about the company's Geneva debut, this does not represent a face lift for the Evora. Instead, the car is said to be a hint at future Lotus customization possibilities. This could mean the company is planning developing factory-baked tuning products or at least a partnership with Mansory.
Hopefully this carbon-fiber-ization is accompanied by weight loss and not a net increase as is the case with appliqués and extra, nonfunctional trim pieces. Lotus does seem to be coming from the right place, as a teaser for the car calls out some cases of customization gone wrong:
And speaking of tasteless modification, we're just pleased this Evora is more attractive than Mansory's 2010 Geneva effort, a blue-and-gold Rolls-Royce Ghost.
