Analyst: Three Months Later, iPhone 5s Demand Still Hasn't Decreased

It's hard to believe that three months have passed since the tumultuous launch of the iPhone 5s, but Chris Caso, an analyst for Susquehanna Financial Group, has an even bigger surprise in store. As Cult of Mac reports (via Investors.com), Caso says that the iPhone 5s hasn't even slipped in sales in all that time, and the sales are doing more than enough to counterbalance the relatively poor sales of the iPhone 5c.

As Caso says, "Our checks indicate the mix has indeed shifted disproportionately to iPhone 5S, with production of 5S running nearly 4x that of 5C." Caso added that "Importantly, we note there wasn't a fall off in demand for iPhone 5S after the initial strength of the launch. This shift should have beneficial revenue and gross margin implications."

One of the reasons why that's such good news for Apple, Caso says, is that it allows the Cupertino giant some breathing room so it's not rushing the iPhone 6 out onto the market. With the way Apple's moving, Caso believes that his earlier estimates that Apple would build around 53 million iPhone 5s units are well in line with reality.

We've noted in the past how Apple was moving away from production from the iPhone 5c to focus on the iPhone 5s, and it look as though it's paying off. Literally.
