Wacom Debuts Intuos Creative Stylus for iPad, Preorders Now Available

Wacom Intuos Creative Stylus for iPad

Artists are increasingly turning to the iPad for their latest creations, so it should be little surprise to find that longtime drawing tablet maker Wacom is now jumping into the stylus market with an iPad-specific offering.

Wacom has announced the Intuos Creative Stylus for iPad
, a $99.95 "professional-grade" pressure-sensitive pen that allows artists to "draw, sketch and paint on your iPad with the artistic control of traditional tools."

Available in October, the Intuos Creative Stylus features 2048 levels of pressure sensitivity along with Wacom's palm rejection technology for a drawing experience that mimics using a real pen on paper.

The 10mm thick stylus connects to a third-generation iPad or higher as well as the iPad mini using Bluetooth 4.0 Smart, and work done with the pen on a tablet can be transferred to a Mac or PC even while on the go, where a Wacom Intuos pen tablet can be used with desktop creative software such as Adobe Photoshop.

Best of all, the Intuos Creative Stylus is made to work with a wide range of existing iPad apps including those from Autodesk, ProCreate, Artrage and more; support for Adobe Ideas, Psykopaint and Vision Object Notes is coming soon.

Wacom is now accepting preorders for both black and blue versions of the Intuos Creative Stylus on its website with an estimated delivery date of October 7.
